Jon Stewart on Crossfire

Jon Stewart's Brutal Exchange with CNN Host

All I could think as I watched this was "wow, that's bold." Jon Stewart went on Crossfire and held their feet to the fire for not being the fair, hard-hitting program that they promote themselves as. It is hilarious to watch Tucker Carlson and that other guy squirm through the interview as Stewart gets ramped up.

There is a transcript of the show at CNN.com. Here's a section of the transcript sets up Stewart's confrontation:

STEWART: Will jump on it.

In many ways, it's funny. And I made a special effort to come on the show today, because I have privately, amongst my friends and also in occasional newspapers and television shows, mentioned this show as being bad.

(LAUGHTER)

BEGALA: We have noticed.

STEWART: And I wanted to -- I felt that that wasn't fair and I should come here and tell you that I don't -- it's not so much that it's bad, as it's hurting America.
