The Drought is Over!

I knew if the Boston Redsox could overcome their curse, we could get past ours. It helps that Florida is having a terrible year and just fired their coach. I've gone to the game for the last six years, and every year I left feeling like I was punched in the gut. But not in year seven! It felt so good to leave without thinking "well, there's always next year." I heard one Florida fan say "it's going to be a long bus ride back to Gainesville." Welcome to our world, buddy. You think the drive back to Gainesville is long, try Atlanta. Until this year, it's always been six hours of nothing to talk about except how we would have won if only...

I was amazed at how negative the Florida fans were this year. It seemed like they just expected to lose. The Florida side of the stadium didn't fill up until 5 minutes after the start of the game. That's just not like them. Usually, both sides of the stadium are electric. I guess they've given up after Zook-gate. Maybe, they are just looking forward to next year...

Speaking of next year, I don't care if Spurrier comes back. We have a great coach and a strong football program, and I don't think he would be able to dominate us like he did under Ray Goff and Jim Donnan. So, come on back, Steve. You'll have a veteran team with an incredibly athletic QB. But that won't be enough.
