Netflix Friends

Netflix has launched a beta feature, Friends, that is their first shot at a social networking tool. When you add a friend to your list, you get to see their recent rental history and what they really liked. You can make suggestions to friends and add your own comments about movies that the rest of the world can't see. It's actually an interesting feature, and I look forward to seeing what else Netflix has in store.

Netflix is trying to make their service more attractive. They know that they are about to have some major competition because Amazon is entering the DVD rental market. Netflix has already lowered their price to $17.99 a month and they have partnered with Tivo to eventually deliver movies on demand.
