Google Talk

There has been quite a bit of excitement about the release of Google Talk, Google's new IM client.  I installed the app as soon as I heard about it, and I'm sold.  Google Talk is a very simple, small application that takes away all of the bloat that you find in AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, and MSN Messenger.  Google is using the open Jabber/XMPP protocol which means you can connect to their service from other IM clients like iChat, GAIM, or Trillian.  However, one of the drawbacks is that you must have a GMail account to use Google Talk.  That's not that big a deal considering you can easily acquire a GMail account.  If you want one, I've got a couple invites available (actually 47.)

So, download Google Talk, get a GMail account from me, and talk to me.

I replace the  @  with [at] so that spammer can't automatically pick up my email address.
